Traffic management is the organisation, arrangement, guidance and control of both stationary and moving traffic, including pedestrians, bicyclists and all types of vehicles.

 

You could be undertaking anything from road closures to assisting with temporary traffic lights. This can often be manual work but there is a lot of planning and management that goes into any traffic management system so there are a number of opportunities available.

 

In order to start in Traffic Management you need a traffic management qualification recognized by Highways England such as a TTMBC or Streetworks qualification.
